Mysterious. Prolific. Futuristic. There’s much to uncover about HOLOGRAPHIC

Over the past year, these three producers and DJs have released a wave of incredible tracks, riding a seemingly unstoppable creative high. Their signature sound—complex, modern basslines and tightly compressed drums—delivers cutting-edge, dancefloor-ready anthems.

But their creativity extends beyond music. With each release, they produce their own videos and abstract artwork, adding a unique visual dimension to their sonic identity.

With a tour on the horizon, expect to hear a lot more from them soon. For now, they’ve teased what’s coming with an exclusive interview and a 100% HOLOGRAPHIC guest mix packed with unreleased tracks.

How did the trio come together?

We’ve all known each other for so long, it’s hard to pinpoint exactly when we all met. Getting to know each other naturally led us to work together, as we had a shared passion for writing and producing music. All living fairly close to each other, it was quite easy to get together in one of our studios. We got pretty excited after the first session and decided to just keep writing as much as possible. We began linking a few days at a time, every week. We were making 2 to 3 tracks each session. We were just hammering the hours and putting as much time in as we could physically and mentally do, on top of all our other work/life commitments. The music started to come together quite quickly, but it still took us 3 years to come up with a name, and even then it wasn’t our first choice! Ha! We had so much material by that point and had put so much work in, we really had to start pushing it out. We had our first release shortly after that.

Do all three members produce and DJ? What’s the workflow when making music: same room or remotely?

Yes, all 3 of us produce and DJ. We all have been in the industry in various incarnations for a while before we started this project.

We work together in the same room for every session. Sometimes one of us might stay later in the studio and carry on working, or another one of us might do a little work outside a session on a laptop, but it really depends on what time we have all together that week. Most of the time we work in the same studio.

What sounds and artists are inspiring you right now? And, what things besides music?

We all draw inspiration from so many areas. There is a lot of good stuff happening across the board, it’s awesome to see. We try to draw inspiration from hip-hop, garage, dubstep, and drum & bass for the sounds as well as old/world music for moods and samples, etc. It’s not just sounds and other artists that inspire us though as you say. A mood, feeling, or experience can carry into the studio as well. Some of our music reflects just simply how we were feeling at the time.

Who would you like to collaborate with?

Collaborating with other artists has always been an exciting prospect for us. Combining our music with others to create some new hybrid just to satisfy the mad scientist streak in all of us is something we will always be keen to do. Getting a load of passionate creators working towards one goal can produce some amazing results. That was kind of the ethos to starting this project in the first place.

To that end, we are currently working on quite a few collabs with some insanely good producers. We don’t want to give away too much at this stage as there is still work to do, but things are starting to take some serious shapes.

Holographic posing

Holographic has a clear visual identity, with sci-fi digital footage. What is the inspiration and story behind it? Who creates it, and how?

We all have a keen interest in film, and we share a lot of love for similar kinds of movies / narratives / visuals. Being brought up on all the classic sci-fi and generally just being massive geeks probably steered what we like visually! Ha!

Writing music is our main passion, but having a shared love and keen interest in film led us to want Holographic to be an audio-visual show from the outset. To be able to take control of not just the sound system, but the visual side of a live event is an awesome experience and hopefully translates as one too. We are super excited to get to these shows we’ve got coming up and smash out some of these visuals!

The approach to each video is as individual as the track. A lot of the time, it can end up being as experimental as sound design can be. Incorporating all sorts of equipment, software, or techniques to create something new. Having to learn how to use these things and geek out on them to get usable results has always been a passion. This is also why a lot of it tends to come out quite abstract. Narrative forming is something we have thought about since the beginning, and there may or may not be a thread forming to it… How abstract or obvious that may be will depend on how we choose to continue to develop it, or not, as the case may be…

What’s one piece of equipment or VST you can’t live without right now, and why?

Always a hard one to answer! We use a broad range of software and hardware, from modular and recording weird instruments to very digital tools like granulizers, etc. There are so many ways to achieve good results, the best results come from combining processes. So we might start with the modular, then run the results through the digital toolbox to further transform things. We don’t use exactly the same approach every time and are always looking for new ways to do things, so we aren’t reliant on anything specific……. except maybe serum.

What can we expect from Holographic in the future? Are any releases, projects, or shows planned?

A lot is forming right now. We’ve been super busy behind the scenes trying to lay it all out in the most cohesive way. We have a fair bit of material as you can tell from this mix, but that’s nowhere near all of it, and we are writing new tracks every week. Our next EP is coming very soon, and once that’s out, and if all goes to plan, we have some pretty exciting shows/tours lining up for next year. We will announce it as soon as we can!

Where do you recommend listening to this Adrenaline episode, and in what state of mind?

Anywhere you can, as loudly as possible.

What’s your favorite song in the mix, and why?

The first one. Partly because of the elf kid acapella on it, as it will never get released as it is in this mix!
